The Juneau International Airport has transfered two smoking areas farther from the entrance.

The Juneau International Airport has transfered two smoking areas farther away from the terminal entrances. The airport has received a number of public complaints about smoking at the terminal entrance. In December 2012 the Airport Board approved a smoking prohibition in any area the board designates. The airport authorities do not plan a full ban on smoking because a number of employees and airline passengers smoke. The airport already had two smoking shelters next to the terminal entrance. These will be removed from the curb and relocated near the bus canopy at the new end of the terminal. There are no smoking areas inside the terminal building or at the airside.
